Robert S. Harris practiced in Austin for only four years in the early-to-mid 1960s before relocating to Los Angeles, where he later founded the University of Southern California's Graduate School of Landscape Architecture. His Austin output is consequently small and considered collectible among enthusiasts of mid-century Texas modernism.
The house was completed in 1966. Rumored to have been built by Stenger, though this has not been definitively confirmed. The renovation preserved the original angular geometry, limestone block walls, and stand-alone fireplace while adding a new primary suite wing and replacing all major systems.
